Aileen Bergström, PhD, assistant lecturer, Department of Occupational Therapy, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden
Aileen Bergström is a registered occupational therapist with long clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation. She has worked both in the United States and in Sweden. In 2012 she defended her PhD thesis regarding everyday life for the stroke-caregiver dyad at Karolinska Institute (KI). Aileen is employed at the Karolinska Institute, in Stockholm, Sweden where she works in education and research. At present Aileen is PI for a research project testing reablement with older adults living in the community at two sites in Sweden. The overall goal of the research is to contribute new knowledge regarding reablement in a Swedish homecare context. The research will use co-design approaches as well as interviews and diverse measurements to evaluate goal attainment over time and person cantered approaches, among other things.
